Java GUI Builder version 1.0 is a WYSIWYG program that helps you to create Graphic User Interfaces by dragging and dropping AWT components. Java GUI Builder version 1.0 is basically written in Visual Basic which can generate codes for Frame, Applet, JFrame and JApplet. So it is often termed as a ‘Code Generator Tool’ for the Java development. The most interesting part is that, it helps to create a Java AWT or Swing interface of an Applet, Frame, JApplet or JFrame visually and no manual coding is required.

It helps you to simple drag and drop the AWT components from the toolbar and place it on a panel. After that it generates the JDK 1.1 source code. This dragging and dropping feature of Java GUI Builder 1.0 is very much similar to Visual Basic IDE. With these advance features that are included in Java GUI Builder 1.0, you can easily add, move and also resize components on the panel. The main purpose of this program is to help the users to create GUI interfaces in Java. Now there’s no need to write the GUI interface code first and then view it. Java GUI Builder 1.0 gives you the option to draw the interface first followed by the writing of codes by this program next. So it is really a very amazing feature of Java GUI Builder 1.0. This program first lets you create a customized layout for the interface, so that the AWT components get placed exactly in the same place where they are drawn. Java GUI Builder then defines or builds the code you need using the customized layout. So this is again an outstanding feature of this program. The prior system requirement of this program is Windows 98 and Microsoft Visual Basic Runtime 6.
